Here's the issue - on May 6, 2013, the US Senate passed legislation authorizing the various states to begin requiring sellers located in other states to begin collecting sales taxes on the goods they ship into the purchasers' locations.
Even if the seller does not have any physical location in the purchaser's state.
The legislation now goes to the House of Representatives for their vote.
Are you affected? Whether you are a buyer or a seller, YES, you are affected by this legislation.
You may have purchased goods in the past with no sales taxes charged by the seller located in another state. Those taxes may now be added to the bill.
Or, if you make sales to purchasers in other states, you may now be required to collect the sales taxes for those states. All 45 different states!
